As a result of the new industrial revolution, Americans wanted to expand and take over Native American lands. They tried to justify their actions by offering to pay for their land and not take it by force. However, they always found a way to cut the Native Americans short. The Native Americans ended up selling their land, and getting less land that was poorer in quality than their previous lands. Their unhappiness over their current situation caused them to act out and fight for what they believed what was rightfully theirs.
